Ingredients

  • Olive oil on one big or two medium baguettes
  • An 8-oz box of room-temperature softened cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup of hot water with dried cranberries
  • one-fourth teaspoon powdered garlic
  • To taste, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and black pepper.
  • Two tablespoons of freshly cut, finely chopped rosemary
  • Half a cup of finely chopped pistachios

Instructions

1. Put the cranberries in a small dish that can withstand heat.
2. Cover the cranberries with just enough boiling water. Give it at least fifteen minutes to soak.
3. Slice the baguette into 1-inch pieces on the diagonal.
4. Brush each slice with olive oil on one side using a pastry brush.
5. Toast the baguette slice on a grill pan with the oil side down.
6. Set aside the juice after straining the cranberries.
7. Select 20 pieces of cranberries and save them for garnish. Place the remaining chopped cranberries in a medium bowl.

Ingredients

  • Four eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
  • One cup of thawed and drained frozen chopped spinach
  • half cup of Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups of Swiss cheese, grated
  • 2/3 cup of cooked, coarsely chopped bacon
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • One tablespoon of freshly cut, coarsely chopped thyme leaves
  • Two pie crusts, either handmade (recipe below) or store-bought

Instructions

1. Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add the cream and eggs and whisk until thoroughly blended.
3. Thoroughly combine the spinach, cheeses, bacon, salt, and thyme.
4. On a lightly floured board, roll out pie crust to a thickness of approximately 1/4 inch.
5. Cut out circles from the pie crust dough using a round cookie cutter (3" is ideal) (Image 1).Dip your cookie cutter in flour every so often to prevent it from adhering to the pie crust dough.

Classic French Onion Dip

Bubbly and hot, fresh from the oven, this dip packs in a lot of flavor and even includes a secret (and healthy) ingredient. 

Ingredients

Two tablespoons of butter without salt

  • Sliced, two medium onions or one big onion (about two cups)
  • One teaspoon of fresh thyme.
  • One teaspoon of salt.
  • One tsp pepper.
  • 1/4 cup of optional dry sherry.
  • One 14-ounce can White beans.
  • One cup of shredded Gruyere cheese.

Instructions

  • Turn the oven on to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large sauté pan, melt the butter.
  • After adding the onions, salt, pepper, and thyme, simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until they are tender and browned.
  • Deglaze the pan and let the liquid to evaporate if you plan to use the sherry.
  • Take out from the pan if you're not using.Puree the beans in the bowl of a food processor until they are smooth.
  • Add the onions to the bean mixture when they have cooled.
  • Put everything in a baking dish or casserole that is suitable to use in the oven.
  • Add the cheese and bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and browned.
